Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 1, 2026. This draft should receive legal and technical review before final publication.
Information we collect
We may collect contact information and other details that you voluntarily submit through general inquiry, program-interest, volunteer, partnership, or donation-related forms. We may also receive limited technical information such as browser type, device information, IP address, and pages visited when security or analytics tools are enabled.
How we use information
We use information to respond to inquiries, evaluate volunteer or partnership interest, communicate program updates, maintain website security, improve the website, and meet legal or administrative obligations.
Do not submit sensitive health information
Ordinary website forms are not intended for medical records, detailed diagnoses, Social Security numbers, VA claim numbers, insurance information, tribal enrollment documentation, or other highly sensitive data.
Forms and communications
Information submitted through forms may be transmitted to authorized Foundation representatives by email or stored by the website’s hosting or form-service provider. The final configuration should use encryption, access controls, spam protection, and a documented retention schedule.
Donations and third parties
If online donations are activated, payment information should be processed by a reputable third-party payment processor. The Foundation should not directly store complete payment-card information.
Cookies and analytics
The website may use necessary cookies for security and form functionality. Analytics or marketing cookies should be enabled only after the Foundation chooses a provider and implements any required consent controls.
Data retention
Information should be retained only as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose collected, legal compliance, dispute resolution, security, or recordkeeping. A formal retention schedule should be approved before launch.
Information sharing
We do not intend to sell personal information. Information may be shared with service providers, professional advisers, regulators, or law enforcement when reasonably necessary and legally permitted.
Security
No online system can guarantee absolute security. The Foundation should use SSL, strong passwords, multi-factor authentication, software updates, limited administrator access, backups, and secure form handling.
Children’s privacy
This website is not directed to children under 13. A parent or legal guardian should contact the Foundation regarding a minor.
Your choices
You may request access, correction, or deletion of personal information, subject to legal and operational limitations, by emailing admin@vndfoundation.org.
